Why did the Galaxy Note 7 explode? Samsung will finally tell us soon

Samsung was expected to reveal the findings of its Galaxy Note 7 explosions investigation by the end of 2016. That didn’t happen, but a fresh report indicates that Samsung may soon announce its conclusions together with the South Korean government. The announcement will “most likely” be made on January 10th or by the end of January at the latest, a source familiar with the matter said. According to The Korea Herald, there were at least two investigations into the Galaxy Note 7 exploding batteries. Samsung asked the US-based safety organization UL to find the cause of the fires. The state-run Korea Testing Laboratory also launched its own investigation to explain the Galaxy Note 7’s fire risk. Apparently, it’s KTL that will announce the conclusions, the report notes. “We have not yet confirmed the outcome of UL’s investigation,” a KTL official said without expanding on the matter. Neither Samsung nor the government explained what went wrong with the phone. But The Herald says it’s

New iPhone 7 Leak Will Anger Everyone

Apple is criticised for many things, but design is rarely one of them. At least until the iPhone 7… In recent months a series of leaks have revealed Apple’s new iPhone will look almost identical to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S, but that isn’t the big problem. What the iPhone 7 surprisingly does worse than its predecessors is what will anger users… Lighting up social media is the ever reliable Steve Hemmerstoffer (aka OnLeaks) after the leaker who famously nailed the iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S7 designs prior to release, revealed the first iPhone 7 real world photos as well as a new schematic. And, surprisingly, it was not the photo which had everyone talking. While the photo showed what we have been expecting: an iPhone 6S lookalike with revised antenna lines and a slightly larger camera (believed to increase aperture not megapixels), the schematic gave a more unsettling viewing angle showing the extent to which the new rear camera protrudes.

Android N is Android Nougat

Google announced on Snapchat today that Android N, the latest version of Android, will now go by Android Nougat. The announcement comes after the company said at I/O last month that users could submit suggestions for the name online. Nougat is the latest dessert-themed version of Android, due out later this summer. The release, initially announced in March and currently on its second (and mostly stable) beta, brings new features like an improved notification shade and split-screen multitasking to the mobile OS, while also improving on features like Doze that came with Marshmallow last year. The release also has Daydream, Google's new VR platform, baked in, though it'll only be supported by Daydream-ready handsets running the OS.

Woman Who Tried to Ban Muslims from Her Salon Gets Roasted by the Internet, Arrested

Friday’s horrific terrorist attacks in Paris have garnered the majority of media attention and stirred up a lot of emotion in the western world. But one woman took things too far in the aftermath of the tragedies, using the incident in Paris as an excuse to discriminate against any and all Islamic people in the UK who might happen by her business. According to the Mirror, 43-year-old April Major, owner of Oxfordshire salon Blinks of Bicester, took to her company’s Facebook page to announce that they would no longer be serving Muslim customers in an effort to “put [her] country first.” Because nothing says patriotism like good ‘ol discrimination. “Blinks of Bicester are no longer taking bookings from anyone from the Islamic faith whether you are UK granted with passport or not,” the post read. Naturally, there was a public outcry from people who found the policy to be aggressively bigoted. Major attempted to justify her position by claiming she’s not a racist because she has brown fr
